Build U.P. at UNC-CH is The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s very first undergraduate urban planning club focused on actively and sustainably bettering our local community.

We are an activism forward urban planning club committed to knowledge exchange, public engagement, and creating positive change within the Chapel Hill community and beyond. Our political committee, VoteUP, is dedicated to uniting the Chapel Hill student community with the local residents and environment.

BuildUP aims to be an organization for members of all interests and backgrounds to unite and collaborate over a shared interest in the natural & built environments.

Our Story

BuildUP was established in July of 2023 as a result of students experiencing what urban planning can look like on a Study Abroad trip to Germany, The Netherlands, and the UK. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the natural and built environment and create better communication and advocacy within the Chapel Hill community.
